Jesus Loves Even Me

So many wonderful hymns are full of truth from the Scriptures! As you enjoy singing hymns with your children, your children will begin to lay up these truths in their hearts. And these hymns can remain with them, ready in their hearts to one day be sung with the next generation.

Hymns comfort, encourage, lift up our eyes to Jesus and renew our spirits. Let’s keep singing hymns!!

Note: This hymn is included in First Place Plans 1A and 1B.

Jesus Loves Even Me

Chorus
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me.
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me!

Verse 1
I am so glad that our Father in heaven
Tells of His love in the book He has giv’n.
Wonderful things in the Bible I see
This is the dearest that Jesus loves me!

Verse 2
Tho’ I forget Him and wander away
Still He doth love me wherever I stray.
Back to His dear loving arms would I flee
When I remember that Jesus loves me!

Verse 3
Oh if there’s only one song I can sing
When in His beauty I see the great King.
This shall my song in eternity be
Oh what a wonder that Jesus loves me!

One Special Place

We…have one special place that is always our own and nobody else’s. It’s the place in our heart where we meet with God, talking to Him in prayer, remembering or reading His Word.

And when we’ve done that, be it in the midst of a crowd or in our own room, we can then get up and do just what Jesus did. Go back to serving those who follow us, in His strength.”

Our daughter Melanie wrote these words. They touched my heart. Perhaps they touch your heart as well.

Wherever you are and whatever time it is, you have one special place that is all our own. The place in your heart where you meet with God.

I welcome you to meet with God right now as you listen to Psalm 91 and then talk with Him in prayer.

Psalm 91

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”

Scripture taken from the King James Version

New to Like a Tree?

Psalm 1:1-3 encourages us to meditate on God’s Word day and night. God tells us that when we do, we will be like a tree planted by water. A fruitful tree. A tree that stays fresh and green. Join me on Like a Tree as we meditate on God’s Word together.

Sing 1 John 4:19

One of the ways to have fun memorizing Bible verses with your children is to sing the verses! I have enjoyed doing this with our daughters and thought we’d share one of our Bible verse songs with you! Perhaps you will enjoy singing it with your children!

1 JOHN 4:19

Chorus

First John four nineteen.

We love him, because he first loved us.

We love him, because he first loved us.

Because he first loved us,

Because he first loved us,

Because he first loved us, we love him.

First John four nineteen.

Jeremiah 10:6-7

There is none like You, O LORD;
You are great, and great is Your name in might.
Who would not fear You, O King of the nations?
Indeed it is Your due!
For among all the wise men of the nations
And in all their kingdoms,
There is none like You.
Jeremiah 10: 6-7 (NASB)

Let’s praise the Lord in prayer together! God tells us to praise Him and what better way to do this than to praise Him using the truths found in God’s Word!

This practice of using God’s Word to praise God in prayer has helped me to think about who God says He is and has increased my faith as I have come to know Him better! Would you like to join me?

After praying with me using the audio, I would encourage you to write the Bible verse used in prayer on a card. (Two simple 4″x6″ prayer cards are available as a free download, or feel free to use a blank index card you already have.) Your prayer cards can be used again and again as you continue to talk to God in prayer.

What is a Bible verse you like to use as you praise the Lord in prayer? How has using God’s Word to praise the Lord in prayer helped you? Share in the comments below!
