Looking for a simple and fun Bible activity to enjoy with your little child?
Play “Jump! Jump!”
Choose a Bible verse your child is memorizing or a Bible memory verse you would like to review.
Idea 1
Tell your child that you are going to say a Bible verse. When he hears you say the Bible verse reference he is to make a BIG jump! Then he is to stand still and listen to you say the Bible verse until you come to the end of the verse. When you say the Bible verse reference again, he is to make another BIG jump.
Idea 2
This is a little harder for very little children, but it is great for encouraging listening and concentration skills. Choose a word in the Bible verse. Tell your child that you are going to say a Bible verse. Tell him to listen for the word you have chosen from the verse. When he hears you say the chosen word in the Bible verse, he is to make a BIG jump and then stop and listen to the rest of the verse!
Idea 3
Keep this idea for when your child knows the Bible memory verse quite well. Say the Bible verse with the Bible reference. Have your child make a big jump each time you say the Bible reference and a little jump for each word in the verse. This idea is great for helping to get “wiggles” out during Bible Time!
Idea 4
When your child can say the Bible memory verse without any help, have him say the verse and you can jump! You could choose to jump for each Bible verse reference, for the words of the verse or for both!

Ready for a simple and fun Bible Time activity to enjoy with your little child?
Play “Tall Tower!”
First Block:
Say the Bible verse reference of the verse you chose. As you do, put one block down in front of your child.
Second Block:
Say the first word of the verse. Have your child place a block of his choice from the block pile on the block you just placed in front of him.
More Blocks:
Encourage your child to continue to add one block to the tower each time you say another word of the verse. Say the Bible reference after saying the whole verse and have your child add the final block.
That’s it!
Your child may want to build another tall tower! He could build a tower beside the tower he just made while you say the Bible verse again, or he could continue building onto the tower he just made to make it even taller! Enjoy!

Your Love
As you prepare for Bible time with your children, remember that it starts with you and your love for God and His Word. You cannot share your love for God and His Word with your children if you do not love God and His Word.
Your Growth
It cannot be emphasized enough how important it is for you to take time to grow in your personal relationship with God. One of the best ways to do this is to personally spend time alone with God in His Word and prayer every day.
Also, faithfully study and memorize God’s Word, obey it and share what you learn with others. Be sure to enjoy spiritual fellowship with others who love God and be purposeful in learning from them.
Your Prayers
Talk to God about your love for Him. Ask Him to continue to help you love Him more, to listen to His voice, obey Him and grow in Him.
Talk to God about your marriage. Ask for His help in being a united and joyful team as you invest spiritually in the lives of your children.
Talk to God about your children. Ask Him to work in their lives and to draw them to Himself. Ask for them to have learner’s hearts. Ask that they will love God with all their heart, mind, soul and strength.
And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’
“This is the great and foremost commandment. Matthew 22:37,38 (NASB)
Talk to God about your desire to give Bible Time first place over academics in your children’s lives. Ask for His wisdom. Ask for His help. Ask for His strength. Ask for His ideas.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

This is My Father’s World
Verse 1
This is my Father’s world,
And to my list’ning ears
All nature sings and ’round me rings,
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world,
I rest me in the thought,
Of rocks and trees of skies and seas,
His hand the wonders wrought.
Verse 2
This is my Father’s world,
The birds their carols raise,
The morning light the lily white,
Declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world,
He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me ev’rywhere.
Verse 3
This is my Father’s world,
O let me ne’er forget
And though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world,
The battle is not done;
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and heaven be one.

Isaiah 41:10
The blessed mother, the happy mother, is the mother who does not walk in the way of the wicked or listen to their counsel. Instead, this mother delights in and desires God’s Word. She thinks carefully on God’s Word during the day and during the night.
God tells us that this mother will be like a tree. A tree that is planted by water. A tree ready to bring forth fruit in its season. A tree whose leaf does not fade or dry up. And God promises that what this mother does will prosper. Isn’t that fantastic?!
Let’s be like that tree! Let’s plant ourselves by the living water of God’s Word. The world in which we live is a dry and weary land. Come be refreshed on “Like a Tree” as we meditate on God’s Word together.
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and watsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Psalm 1:1-3
Scripture taken from the King James Version

Bible Time is an intentional time of day. It is deliberate and consistent. It is planned for and it does take time. It comes first. Other things will have to wait. Some things may need to go.
Bible Time is part of your life. Who you are. What you do. It is a means of cultivating your children’s understanding of God and His Word. Of helping your children grow in their personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It calls for dependence on God, partnership with Him and much prayer. And yet it is simple and enjoyed one day at a time.
Like me when our children were small, you be may asking, “What will take first place in our children’s training and education? Will it be Bible Time or academics?”
Will you decide to give Bible Time first place over academics in your children’s lives?
