Jesus Loves Even Me

So many wonderful hymns are full of truth from the Scriptures! As you enjoy singing hymns with your children, your children will begin to lay up these truths in their hearts. And these hymns can remain with them, ready in their hearts to one day be sung with the next generation.

Hymns comfort, encourage, lift up our eyes to Jesus and renew our spirits. Let’s keep singing hymns!!

Note: This hymn is included in First Place Plans 1A and 1B.

Jesus Loves Even Me

Chorus
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me.
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me!

Verse 1
I am so glad that our Father in heaven
Tells of His love in the book He has giv’n.
Wonderful things in the Bible I see
This is the dearest that Jesus loves me!

Verse 2
Tho’ I forget Him and wander away
Still He doth love me wherever I stray.
Back to His dear loving arms would I flee
When I remember that Jesus loves me!

Verse 3
Oh if there’s only one song I can sing
When in His beauty I see the great King.
This shall my song in eternity be
Oh what a wonder that Jesus loves me!

Sing 1 John 4:19

One of the ways to have fun memorizing Bible verses with your children is to sing the verses! I have enjoyed doing this with our daughters and thought we’d share one of our Bible verse songs with you! Perhaps you will enjoy singing it with your children!

1 JOHN 4:19

Chorus

First John four nineteen.

We love him, because he first loved us.

We love him, because he first loved us.

Because he first loved us,

Because he first loved us,

Because he first loved us, we love him.

First John four nineteen.

This is My Father’s World

Verse 1
This is my Father’s world,
And to my list’ning ears
All nature sings and ’round me rings,
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world,
I rest me in the thought,
Of rocks and trees of skies and seas,
His hand the wonders wrought.

Verse 2
This is my Father’s world,
The birds their carols raise,
The morning light the lily white,
Declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world,
He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me ev’rywhere.

Verse 3
This is my Father’s world,
O let me ne’er forget
And though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world,
The battle is not done;
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and heaven be one.

Christmas Caroling

A fun Christmas memory many of us may share is caroling as a family!

Caroling is a great way to praise the Lord, to share the truth of Christmas with others and to encourage the listener’s hearts as well as our own!

This year, in consideration for everyone’s health, caroling may need to look different, but no worries! This could be the year to carol by phone or via an online platform!

Reach out, sing a carol and share Christmas greetings! With some calls you may also want to chat a little, share a Bible verse and pray together. Each call can be personalized for the people you are calling.

TO PREPARE

In preparation for caroling, you may like to gather as a family and make a list of the people you would like to carol. You may also like to take time to pray for each of the people on your list, and to ask God to prepare your hearts and theirs for your time together for His glory.

CHRISTMAS CAROL SONGBOOK

If you are looking for a songbook with Christmas carols, you may like to consider using a small songbook titled: “A Classic Christmas Caroling Songbook” by Hendrickson Publishers. It includes 30 sing-along favorites. Our family has found this songbook to be an inexpensive and useful resource.

May the Lord use your family to encourage others in a special way this Christmas season.

SIX IDEAS FOR SINGING

MORNING: Sing one or more of the carols at the beginning of Bible Time with your children. Take a few minutes to talk about the meaning of the words in the carol.

CAR: Keep a copy of the carols in your car. As you are in the car with your children, sing the carols together!

WALKING: Take a walk with your children. Sing a carol as you walk!

CHAIR: Sing a carol as you snuggle together in a comfy chair.

DINNER: Each night, before dinner, place a copy of one of the carols at each person’s place at the dinner table. Sing one or more verses of the carol together before you pray and thank the Lord for your food.

BEDTIME: As you put your child to bed, ask your child what carol he/she would like you to sing. Sing the carol as you rub your child’s back.

What ideas do you have for singing carols with your family?

Thank You Jesus!

Are you a new mom? Or perhaps you are a mom with a number of little children? That’s wonderful!

Thank-you Jesus is a song your little ones might like to sing with you this Thanksgiving!

As you sing this song together, your children will be telling Jesus “Thank You” for loving them and for being so good to them, which is what Psalm 136:1 encourages us to do!

THANK YOU JESUS

Thank You Jesus
Thank You Jesus
Thank You for loving me.
Thank You Jesus
Thank You Jesus
You’re so good to me!
