We have looked at what Bible Time is and the why, how much, when and where of Bible Time. Now let’s look at what to do in Bible Time.
Bible Time is really quite simple! Sing, spend time in the Bible and pray.
Sing
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing. Psalm 100:2
God invites you and your children to come before Him with joyful songs.
You can sing hymns, Scripture songs and spiritual songs.
Singing to the Lord helps to prepare your heart and your children’s hearts for what He has to teach you that day from His Word.
There may be days when you or your children will not feel like singing. Sing anyway! It will do your heart good.
The Bible
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 2 Timothy 3:16
God uses His Word to teach, rebuke, correct and train you and your children in righteousness.
You and your children can read, listen to, study and memorize God’s Word together.
Pray
‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:3
God tells you to call to Him. He has great and mighty things He wants to show you and your children.
You and your children can pray silently, out loud, on your own and with each other. You can pray for family, neighbors, missionaries and friends.

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Isaiah 41:10
Most children like stickers and they can be a great addition to Bible memory verse cards!
Sticker Verses
Suggested ages: 1 and up
Years ago, I began to put stickers on some of our daughters’ Bible memory verse cards. These stickers did not necessarily have anything to do with the meaning of the verse, but they added color and something fun to look at while memorizing and reviewing the verses!
We began to call these memory verses “Sticker Verses” and the name “stuck!” To this day, we refer to those beginning memory verses as ‘sticker verses’ and our daughters can still identify specific memory verses by the accompanying sticker.
Would you like to use “Sticker Verses” with your children?
If so, prepare a memory verse card for each of your children, including cards for any babies in your family!
Babies grow fast and will soon be ready to hold their own card. They can begin to memorize the verse even before they start talking, and by planning ahead you will have memory verse cards ready for them.
Use lined or blank index cards, blank business cards or blank flash cards. Add an identical sticker to each child’s card per verse.
If you are new to memorizing verses with your children and would like a list of suggested verses to help you get started, take a look at the above download.
I hope you and your children will enjoy hours of fun as you memorize God’s Word together!
“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16 (KJV)

Are you ready for another game to enjoy as you review Bible Memory verses with your children?
Play Match the Mix!
The Match the Mix game cards are super easy to make and the game is fun to play!
1. Choose six of your children’s Bible memory verses.
2. Write the six Bible memory verse references on six cards. One reference per card. Do this again. This will give you two cards of each Bible reference.
3. Place identical stickers on the back of each card if you’d like, or leave the back of the cards blank.
1. Mix up the 12 cards. Lay the cards out on a table, Bible reference side down.
2. Take turns turning over two cards. If the cards do not match, the person turns the cards back over and it is the next person’s turn.
3. If the cards match, everyone says the related Bible verse together. The person who turned over the two matching cards puts the matching set beside him.
4. Continue until all the cards have been matched and all the verses have been said. Everyone can then count their card sets to see how many matches they made.
That’s it!!
Enjoy playing Match the Mix with your children as you review Bible verses together!
Variations
Make another set of 12 cards to review 6 more memory verses.
Have older children? Make a set of 16 game cards using 8 Bible memory verses.

One of the ways to have fun memorizing Bible verses with your children is to sing the verses! I have enjoyed doing this with our daughters and thought we’d share one of our Bible verse songs with you! Perhaps you will enjoy singing it with your children!

Psalm 37:31
The law of His God is in his heart
none of his steps,
none of his steps,

none of his steps shall slide.

Your home is the perfect place to have Bible Time.
Choose a place in your home where you and your children can sit down and also have the freedom to move around as your Bible Time activities dictate. When your children are infants and toddlers, a couch or comfortable chair is a great place for Bible Time. Once your children are ready to draw and write, a table and chairs become very useful.
Our kitchen table worked great for Bible Time. Melissa was the youngest in our family so she began enjoying Bible Time with us in her highchair. Sometimes we used our family room for Bible Time activities as well.
If you play the piano or another instrument in your home, you may want to start Bible Time where your instrument is and then move to a couch or table.
Take a look around your home and find a place that will work best for you and your children. Look for a place free from things that will distract your children. Places that have toys or a place by a window where your children will see a lot of activity going on outside are best left for another time.

Looking for a fun, easy, hands-on craft to enjoy with your children as you memorize a Bible verse together?
Make a Psalm 37:31 Flip Book!
(If your children are old enough they can make their own flip book while they watch you make yours.)
These books can be made using any Bible memory verse. Collect a few supplies, gather your children and have fun!
Staple seven index cards together on the left hand side of the index cards to create a book.
Go to the front of the book and fold back each page along the line of staples. Fold the right hand bottom corner of the back page to the front of the card and then re-fold the corner to the back of the card. Fold the right hand corner of the next page. Make this corner fold a bit bigger. A small piece of the back page will show.
Put a sticker on the inside corner of each fold. Add more stickers for decoration if you like.
Write the Bible reference on the first page and the last page of the book. Divide the words found in your verse into five sections. Write a section of words from your verse in order on the five inside pages.
That’s it!
Have fun using the Bible Verse Flip Book as you say your chosen Bible memory verse with your children!
Variations!
Use cards of other sizes and colors. Pre-cut cards are great! There are many choices online. Or, make cards by cutting cardstock paper with a paper cutter.
Instead of using stickers, use glue or washi tape to hold down the folded corners. Also, your children may enjoy decorating the pages with crayons, markers or pens.
Ideas!
Bible Time Basket: Keep your children’s completed Bible Verse Flip Books in your Bible Time Basket. The flip books will be easy to find when you are ready to “flip and say” memory verses together during Bible Time.
Flip Book Collection: Your children may enjoy making more flip books using other memory verses. If so, they will be creating their own Bible Verse Flip Book collection.

Share a picture of your children’s Bible Verse Flip Books with me! it would be delightful to see your children’s work!
